Drug possession

Drugs found on man at restaurant: A Tallmadge man, 35, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor drug possession after police said they found prescription anxiety and muscle relaxant drugs on him at a restaurant in Hudson Drive's 3500 block Sept. 25. Police said the man was suspected to be under the influence of drugs at the time and he was taken to Akron General Medical Center for treatment. He was later given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Police see man in car: A Wyndham Ridge Drive man, 19, was cited with marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police responded to a report that the man was smoking marijuana in his car while it was outside his home in the early evening Sept. 20. Police said they found the man in the car with a smoking device containing suspected marijuana.

Man cited when dog runs loose: A McTaggart Road man, 57, was cited with minor misdemeanor dog at large after his dog was running loose on Steels Pointe Drive in the late evening Sept. 25.

Theft

Boy allegedly took headphones: A Stow boy, 16, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the boy took two headphone sets of unspecified value Sept. 24. The boy was referred to Stow Youth Services in lieu of filing the charge in Summit County Juvenile Court and released to his parents.

Clothing and jewelry allegedly stolen: Three Kent women, two aged 23 and one 22, were charged with misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the women took clothing and jewelry Sept. 23. Police said merchandise the two older women allegedly took totaled $120 in value while the younger woman allegedly took merchandise totaling nearly $400 in value.

The women were summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released. According to court records, the women all pleaded not guilty Sept. 26.

Shoes allegedly worn out of store: A Bryn Mawr Drive man, 42, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the man put on a $100 pair of athletic shoes and walked out of the store Sept. 22. The man was released the next day from Macedonia City Jail on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.

Store reports clothing stolen: A Kent woman was charged with misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the woman took clothing totaling nearly $350 in value Sept. 20. The woman was given a summons to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released. According to court records, she pleaded not guilty Sept. 22.

Operating a vehicle

Man stopped on Route 8: A Petersboro Drive man, 27, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over the legal limit of 0.08 percent, and weaving after he was stopped on Route 8 southbound at about 2:45 a.m. Police said the man's BAC level measured at 0.136 percent. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Arrest warrants

Tallmadge police turn man over: Tallmadge police reported Sept. 23 that they had in custody an Akron man, 40, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on driving under suspension, speeding and seat belt charges filed by Stow police. The man was given a court date and released on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.

Woman arrested during traffic stop: An Echo Valley Drive woman, 34, wanted by Stow Municipal court for failing to appear in court on a telecommunications harassment charge filed by Stow police, was arrested during a traffic stop at Stow Road and Anna Court Sept. 22. She was given a court date and released on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.

Man arrested at Stow home: A North Gilwood Drive man, 49, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor failure to comply with police and driving under suspension charges filed by Stow police was arrested at a Ritchie Road home Sept. 20.

According to court records, the charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Route 8 at Steels Corners Road at about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 24. The man pleaded not guilty to the charges Sept. 21 and was released from Summit County Jail on a personal bond.

Man wanted by Canton police: Stow police arrested a Painesville man, 28, wanted by Canton police on a misdemeanor assault charge, during a traffic stop on Route 8 at about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 19. The man was turned over to Canton police.

Domestic violence

Girl charged: A Stow girl, 13, was charged in Summit County Juvenile Court with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after a woman reported the girl assaulted her following an argument at their home Sept. 21. Police said the woman suffered an apparent minor injury. The girl was taken to Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Mutual aid call

Dog sniffs out marijuana: After Silver Lake police called in Munroe Falls police K-9 Ryot to a traffic stop on Graham Road at Route 8 at about 1:15 a.m. Sept. 27, she indicated the presence of narcotics and police said a burnt marijuana cigar was found in the vehicle.

Accidents

Man cited in collision: An Atwater man, 77, was cited with failure to yield right of way after police said the man, while making a left turn off Forest Brook Boulevard onto Northmoreland Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. Sept. 24, struck a vehicle driven by a Munroe Falls man making a left turn from Northmoreland onto Forest Brook. Police said there were no reported injuries and damage to both vehicle was minor.

School bus hits car in parking lot: Police said there were no reported injuries after a Cuyahoga Falls City Schools bus driver, while backing up outside Kimpton Middle School at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19, struck a vehicle driven by an Akron woman that was behind the bus. Police said damage to both vehicles was minor and there were no citations.

Driving under suspension

Needles found in vehicle: A Cuyahoga Falls woman, 33, was charged with driving under suspension and possession of drug abuse instruments after police stopped her on North Main Street at about 5:15 p.m. Sept. 23. Police said they found four hypodermic needles in the woman's vehicle. The woman was given a Stow Municipal and released on an unspecified bond.

Suspected marijuana found in vehicle: A Cuyahoga Falls woman, 23, was charged with driving under suspension, marijuana possession and open container after police stopped her on Munroe Falls Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. Sept. 17. The woman was summoned to appear in Munroe Falls Mayor's Court date and released.
