Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Man was in accident: A Cleveland man, 25, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to control and hit skip following a one-vehicle accident on Bridgewater Parkway at about 1:20 a.m. Sept. 18.

According to a police report, the man was southbound and struck the curb while going around a curve, causing extensive damage to the vehicle's front axle and rim. Police said the man was found nearby with an injured nose, but he declined treatment. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.

Man stopped for speeding: A Northfield Center man, 26, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, marijuana possession and speeding after he was stopped on Graham Road near Fishcreek Road at about 1:50 a.m. Sept. 17. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Domestic violence

Woman reports attempted assault: A Stow man, 36, was charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence after a woman reported he tried to punch her in the face at his home Sept. 18. No injuries were reported to the woman. The man was released from Summit County Jail on a 10 percent of $50,000 bond Sept. 20.

Woman and children injured: A Stow man, 29, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and disorderly conduct after police responded to the man's home when they received several 911 calls from the home Sept. 13. Police said a woman and four children at the home all suffered non-incapacitating minor injuries that the woman refused treatment for.

The man was arrested at the Stow Police Department Sept. 15 and released on a 10 percent of $1,000 bond. According to Stow Municipal Court records, he pleaded not guilty to the charges Sept. 20.

Woman hospitalized: A Stow man, 37, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and assault after a woman was admitted to Akron City Hospital with an incapacitating injury following an altercation at their home Sept. 9.

Police said a male neighbor who tried to intervene was treated for an apparent minor injury.

The man was arrested at the Stow Police Department Sept. 16, given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a 10 percent of $1,000 bond.

Drug possession

Drug found during July traffic stop: A Streetsboro man, 29, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession after a substance found in his vehicle during a July 14 traffic stop was identified by a lab as nearly 9 grams of a synthetic form of marijuana and Stow Municipal Court issued a warrant for his arrest Sept. 13.

The man was arrested at the Stow Police Department the next day, given a court date and released on a personal bond.

Pills found on man: A Kent man, 33, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the man took sheets and socks totaling $93 in value Sept. 13. Police said they found a prescription anxiety medication on the man. The man was released from Summit County Jail on a personal bond the next day.

Resisting arrest

Woman charged during argument: A North Canton woman, 31, was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business, both second-degree misdemeanors, and fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police responded to a noise complaint at a Hidden Lake Drive woman's home at about 1 a.m. Sept. 13 and found the two women arguing there. Police said the North Canton woman was uncooperative and resisted arrest. No injuries were reported.

The North Canton woman was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a 10 percent of $2,000 bond. Police said the Hidden Lake woman, 45, was cited with minor misdemeanor unlawful noise.

Obstructing

official business

Man wanted on warrant: A Wooster man, 40, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business and minor misdemeanor marked lanes after he was stopped on Pinehurst Road at Route 91 at about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 12.

Police said the man provided a false name and date of birth. After correctly identifying him, police said, they determined the man was wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on a carrying a concealed weapon charge filed by Stow police in June. According to court records, the charge involved a large knife found on the man during a traffic stop.

According to court records, the man pleaded guilty to the weapon charge Sept. 12 and was fined $50 and pleaded not guilty to the Sept. 12 charges and was released on a personal bond.

Drug possession

Man and woman charged: A Kent man and Kent woman, 25 and 26, were cited with marijuana possession after police stopped the vehicle the man was driving for a windshield violation in Brust Park at about 5:25 p.m. Sept. 14.

Police said the man, the driver, was also charged with driving under suspension and the woman, a passenger and the vehicle's registered owner, was charged with unlawful entrustment for letting him drive it. They were both summoned to appear in Munroe Falls Mayor's Court and released.

Traffic accident

Man injured in collision: A Cuyahoga Falls man, 25, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after his vehicle, while northbound on North Main Street, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a Munroe Falls woman after she slowed to make a right turn into Brust Park at about 11:10 a.m. Sept. 13.

No injuries were reported to the man and woman, but police said Munroe Falls EMS treated a Munroe Falls man, a passenger in the woman's vehicle, for non-incapacitating injuries at the scene without transport to a hospital.

The Cuyahoga Falls man's vehicle sustained minor front-end damage while the woman's vehicle sustained more serious rear-end damage, but was functioning.
