Breaking and entering

Man reports furniture burned: A Stow boy, 14, and a Munroe Falls boy, 13, were charged in Summit County Juvenile Court with breaking and entering and theft, both fifth-degree felonies, misdemeanor criminal trespassing, and two counts of misdemeanor criminal damaging after a man reported Sept. 8 that someone broke into his garage in North River Road's 500 block during the night.

Police said several locks on the garage were damaged, as well as a fence at nearby Kimpton Middle School that was cut, and miscellaneous furniture, including chairs and a baby crib, were removed and burned in a fire outside the garage.

Police said two other 14-year-old boys, Stow and Munroe Falls residents, who were with the other two boys on the man's property, were charged with criminal trespassing. The four boys, all Kimpton students, were identified via footage shot by a video security camera on the man's property, police said.

Police said the boys charged with the felonies were taken to Summit County Juvenile Detention Center. The other two boys were referred to Stow Youth Services in lieu of filing the charges in juvenile court and released to parents.

Theft

Woman accused of shoplifting: A Kent Road woman, 49, was charged with petty theft and criminal trespassing after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4400 block reported the woman left the store with miscellaneous merchandise totaling about $38 in value Sept. 10. The woman was summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.

Boy's medication stolen: A Stow woman, 49, was charged with third-degree felony theft after a Stow man reported Sept. 1 that the woman took hyperactivity medication belonging to a male juvenile relative of the man's who lives with the woman.

Police said the woman was arrested at Stow Municipal Court Sept. 9. She was being held in Summit County Jail on a 10 percent of $15,000 bond as of Sept. 14.

Man and woman charged twice: A Streetsboro woman, 26, was charged with misdemeanor theft and a Northfield Center man, 59, was charged with complicity to commit theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported they left the store without paying for clothing totaling $616 in value Sept. 6. They were summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and according to court records, the woman and man pleaded not guilty to the charges Sept. 9 and 12 respectively.

According to police and court records, identical charges were subsequently filed against the woman and man after it was determined they had also allegedly taken $654 in clothing from the same store Sept. 1 and arrest warrants were issued Sept. 13.

Arrest warrant issued for man: A Hiram Township man, 25, was charged with misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road's 4200 block reported the man left the store with a pair of ear buds and a pair of shorts of unspecified value Sept. 5. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond. According to court records, a warrant was issued for the man's arrest Sept. 12 after he failed to appear in court.

Unruliness

Girl charged: A 13-year-old Stow girl was charged with unruliness Sept. 10. She was released to her mother pending notification of a Summit County Juvenile Court date.

Drug possession

Police saw man and woman in vehicle: A man and woman, both 23 and described in a police report as homeless, were charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and misdemeanor drug abuse instruments possession after police said they saw the two allegedly smoking meth while they were in a vehicle in the parking lot of a store in Hudson Drive's 3500 block Sept. 9. Police said they found suspected meth and drug pipes in the vehicle.

According to Stow Municipal Court records, the man and woman did not enter pleas to the felony and pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor and were released from Summit County Jail on personal bonds Sept. 12.

Man cited during traffic stop: A 28-year-old Akron man was cited with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, both minor misdemeanors, during an unspecified traffic stop on Steels Corners Road at Route 8 at about 4:15 p.m. Sept. 7. Police said the man had a marijuana grinder in his possession. According to Stow Municipal Court records, the man pleaded guilty to the citations Sept. 9 and was fined $300.

Open container

Alcohol was in a cup: A Parma man, 56, was cited with open container and unsafe vehicle after police stopped his vehicle for having a cracked windshield on Graham Road at Route 8 at about 12:45 p.m. Sept. 8.

Disorderly conduct

Warrant issued for woman: A Valley Forge Drive woman, 62, was cited with disorderly conduct while she was on Louis A. Dirker Jr. Boulevard at Holly Tree Trail at a little after 6 p.m. Sept. 6. According to Stow Municipal Court records, a warrant was issued for her arrest Sept. 12 after she failed to appear in court.

Drug paraphernalia possession

Pipes found on man: A Gorge Park Boulevard man, 48, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession while he was in Liberty Road's 2200 block in the early afternoon Sept. 6. Police said the man had four drug pipes in his possession. The man was given a summons to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.
