under the influence
Man went through red light: A Wadsworth man, 34, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving through a red light after he was stopped on Route 8 southbound, near Graham Road, at about 2:40 a.m. Aug. 7. Police said the man's eyes were red and glassy, his speech was slurred, there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from him and he failed the field sobriety tests. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Man stopped on Graham Road: A Lake Run Boulevard man, 33, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over the legal limit of 0.08 percent and window tint after he was stopped on Graham Road at Lake Run Boulevard at about 1:15 a.m. Aug. 5. Police said the man's blood alcohol content level measured at 0.154 percent. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Woman refused BAC test: An Akron woman, 28, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol test refusal, driving under suspension and weaving after she was stopped on Fishcreek Road at Celia Drive at about 3:20 a.m. July 31. The woman was released on a personal bond after her arrest. According to Stow Municipal Court records, the woman pleaded not guilty to the charges Aug. 2.
Woman crossed lane lines: A Cuyahoga Falls woman, 27, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over the legal limit of 0.08 percent, and marked lanes after police stopped her on Route 59 in Silver Lake at about 12:20 a.m. July 31. Police said the woman's blood alcohol content level measured at 0.151 percent. The woman was released on a personal bond after her arrest. According to Stow Municipal Court records, the woman pleaded not guilty to the charges Aug. 3.
Medication stolen from mailbox: A man reported someone took prescription cholesterol and blood pressure medications totaling $40 in value after they were delivered to his mailbox in Waterford Circle's 4700 block in the afternoon Aug. 5.
Cell phone stolen from vehicle: A Twinsburg man reported someone took his approximately $650 cell phone from his unlocked vehicle while it was in the parking lot of a business in Hudson Drive's 3500 block for several hours in the afternoon and early evening Aug. 5.
Chicken stolen from coop: Two women reported Aug. 6 that someone took a $10 live chicken from a chicken coop outside their home in Oneida Street's 3700 block since the day before.
Man reports vehicle taken: An Akron woman, 33, was charged with fourth-degree felony theft after a man reported the woman took his car from outside his home in Call Road's 3000 block July 29. Stow police said Akron police arrested the woman and recovered the vehicle Aug. 3. The woman was being held in Summit County Jail on a 10 percent of $25,000 bond as of Aug. 10.
Tools taken from driveway: A man reported Aug. 1 that someone took two drills and a work chair totaling $135 in value from his driveway in Wexford Boulevard's 2700 block while he went inside his home for a few minutes at about 8:30 p.m.
Watch taken from apartment: A woman reported Aug. 1 that someone took a $100 watch with GPS from her neighbor's apartment in Mannington Boulevard's 4500 block during the previous few weeks.
Man cited with disorderly conduct: A Tallmadge man, 21, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated while he was on Allen Road at Hampshire Road at about 10:20 p.m. Aug. 5.
Misuse of 911
Man warned twice: A Maple Park Road man, 66, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor misuse of a 911 call after police said they responded to a 911 call from his home at a little after 1 a.m. Aug. 3. Police said it was the third time they had responded to 911 non-emergency calls that the man made from the home and they had warned him about it twice before charging him. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
A police report did not specify the reason for the calls, but according to a separate report, the man and another man, 37, living in the home were cited with disorderly conduct after police responded to the home earlier in the evening. The younger man was also cited with marijuana possession on that call.
Computer taken from home: Police said they are investigating after a woman reported Aug. 3 that someone entered her home in Adaline Drive's 3500 block in an unspecified way while she was at home during the night and took a $250 laptop computer.
Suspected drugs found in police car: Stow police said that while conducting a routine check of a police car July 29, they found unspecified narcotics, including small baggies containing a white powder and seven pills of two types, on the floor in the car's prisoner section. Police said they had no leads as to who left the items there.
Woman reports calls and texts: A Cuyahoga Falls woman, 35, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor telecommunications harassment after a Stow woman reported July 20 that the Cuyahoga Falls woman was making phone calls and sending text messages of a harassing nature. Police said the Cuyahoga Falls woman turned herself in on an arrest warrant at Stow Municipal Court Aug. 5 and was released on a personal bond.

No reported injuries in accident: A Bermont Park Drive man, 81, was cited with failure to yield right of way after police said that while turning onto South Main Street from Steeplechase Lane at a little after 3 p.m. Aug. 9, the man's vehicle struck the driver's side rear bumper of an Akron woman's vehicle while she was making a left turn onto Steeplechase from South Main. Police said there were no reported injuries and both vehicles were damaged, but functioning.
Vehicle damaged outside home: A man reported Aug. 3 that someone caused about $500 in unspecified damages to his vehicle's driver side front and passenger door while it was outside his home in Buttevant Drive's 500 block during the night. Police said an investigation was closed.
