Ohio House delegation backs 'fiscal cliff' deal

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ohio's congressional delegation voted with the majority to pass the agreement that avoided the so-called fiscal cliff of middle-class tax increases and spending cuts.

All five House Democrats from Ohio voted in favor as the measure passed 257-167 Tuesday night. Ohio's House Republicans split, six voting in favor and seven against.

Those voting in favor were Democrats Marcia Fudge, Marcy Kaptur, Dennis Kucinich (koo-SIN'-ich), Tim Ryan and Betty Sutton, and Republicans John Boehner (BAY'-nur), Bill Johnson, Steve LaTourette (lah-tuhr-EHT'), Robert Latta, Steve Stivers, and Pat Tiberi (TEE'-bayr-ee).

Those voting against were Republicans Steve Austria, Steve Chabot (SHA'-but), Bob Gibbs, Jim Jordan, Jim Renacci (reh-NAY'-see), Jean Schmidt and Michael Turner.
