A Lodi man, charged in connection with improper involvement with a 14-year-old Munroe Falls girl last fall, has pleaded guilty in the case.

An Akron man, charged in a separate case involving the same girl, is scheduled to go on trial in June.

According to Summit County Court of Common Pleas records, 36-year-old David T. Huff pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement Feb. 9 to fourth-degree felony pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and sentenced to nine months in prison.

A second identical pandering count, along with two counts of fifth-degree felony illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance and one count of fifth-degree felony importuning were dismissed as part of the plea agreement, according to court records.

Meanwhile, Akron resident Michael P. Bard, 33, is scheduled to go on trial June 26 on charges of second-degree felony illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, five counts of third-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and two counts of fourth-degree felony pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

Bard is free on a 10 percent of $15,000 bond.

Munroe Falls Police Chief Jerry Hughes told the Stow Sentry this past November that both men contacted the girl separately through Facebook earlier in the year.

Hughes said Huff's girlfriend found "disturbing" images of the girl online and, believing Huff was having an affair and not realizing the girl was a juvenile, she contacted the girl's family to find out who she is. The family then called Munroe Falls police on Sept. 13 and an investigation began with the aid of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which helped particularly with computer and cell phone forensics.

Hughes said that with the assistance of Medina police, Munroe Falls police officers arrested Huff in Medina on Oct. 3. Hughes said Bard was identified as allegedly being involved with the girl during the investigation of Huff and the U.S. Marshal's Service arrested him in Kenmore, where he was staying with his father, on Nov. 16.
